DISCIPLESHIP AT COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP

The heart of Christianity is not to convert people to a religion or even a worldview.  No, Jesus isn’t calling people to a system of beliefs or moral code.  He is calling them to be His disciples.

What is a disciple?

Pastor and author John Mark Comer defines discipleship as “an apprenticeship to Jesus’ way of life.”  It’s being with Him. Becoming like Him. And doing as He did.  And this apprenticeship is a lifelong journey of  to surrendering to Jesus, not just as a teacher, but as your King.  That surrender leads to transformation, but that transformation does not come simply through learning more information; it comes through action.

At Community Fellowship we believe this call to discipleship is an offer extended to anyone. No matter your background, your doubts, or your past, Jesus is inviting you to “follow” Him.

Our mission as a church family has been to help people be with Jesus, become like Him and do as He did.  We believe that embracing that call to discipleship means knowing the next step Jesus is inviting you into and taking that step.

Over time, many of these steps become a rhythm for your life, what some have called a “rule of faith.”  We call them our family habits.  While these habits are progressive to those just learning to follow Jesus, eventually they become cyclical.

The goal of this Discipleship Path is to help you find where you are on the path and show you what your next step is.  Click each habit to see the next step in the path.
