FAITH PATH

Spiritual Maturity is a lifelong process. It begins the day you are born and continues throughout life. Equipping the generations means that as we grow, we lead the next generation spiritually. Leading begins at home with family.

At Community Fellowship, we believe the church and family should work together to raise the next generation of Christians. We see discipleship as a two sided coin: church and family. We believe God designed parents to be the uniquely perfect, primary faith trainers of their children.

If the church and family are to work together to raise up the next generation of believers, we need a common path to walk on. We call this the path the Faith Path. Everything we do at Community Fellowship helps people mature along the path.

As the primary faith trainer in your family, you have the God-given responsibility to help center your family on Christ (Modeling), create time (Minutes) with your family in God’s Word, worship and prayer, to capture opportunities that arise (Moments) in reorienting their hearts back to Jesus, to help your family learn to cherish fun (Memories) by enjoying one another  and to celebrate God’s work (Milestones) in their lives by marking significant events.  This is what it looks like to be on the Faith Path.

As a church, we celebrate 5 milestones along this path with families:

MILESTONE 1 | Family Dedication

During this course, parents learn what it means to be the primary faith trainer in their home.  We will also cover topics such as the blessing, core values, and creating boundaries.  Parents will develop a Legacy Covenant that can be displayed in their home.

While we do believe parents should be having Gospel conversations at home, we also offer a Salvation and Baptism course for children and their parents for kids ages seven through twelve years of age.  In this course, parents have the opportunity to walk through the biblical narrative and share the Gospel with their children.

The Preparing for Adolescence Course helps parents prepare to lead their child through the upcoming spiritual, emotional, physical and social changes that come with the teenage years.  We provide guidance on how and when to have “the talk” with your child as well as help equip you for the teenage years ahead.

We want to offer parents encouragement, resources and tips in walking through this critical milestone of purity as well as help their student understand purity from a biblical standpoint. We will provide talking points, goals, a few resources and lots of encouragement to get parents started.

The Launch to Adulthood Course covers practical and spiritual issues parents will want to address before their child graduates.
