GIVING AT CFEB

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.

2 Corinthians 8:9

We each give individually from what God has given to us to support the work of the ministry that is being done in our community through our local church body. This ministry includes Sunday worship services, children’s and youth ministries, physical needs and facilities, and other work that the church does. We give so that the gospel of Jesus Christ may reach every corner of this community and to the ends of the earth.

The Apostle Paul wrote these words to the church in Corinth about giving (the emphasis is ours and not in the original text):

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written,

“He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.”

He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. By their approval of this service, they will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others, while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you. Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!

2 Corinthians 9:7-17

God calls us to give cheerfully and not because we feel like we have to or should. We are not made right or better in God’s eyes because we give. We are only made right with God by Jesus’ work on the cross, through faith, by believing in and loving Jesus with all our heart. We should joyfully give back to God’s ministry what we have decided in our heart according to our means. These passages discuss giving further and may be helpful to you in considering giving: 2 Corinthians 8:1-15  2 Corinthians 9:7-17

HOW TO GIVE

You can give in person with cash or check, mail a check, via online bill pay, via text, or via our online giving option. While text giving and online giving is convenient, it is not free. There is a small fee associated with it (roughly 2% in most cases), so we ask that you give with cash, check, or online bill pay if able so that 100% of what you give is able to be used for ministry and doesn’t go to overhead. We seek to steward what you give well.
